Cognitive Psychology Unit - also known as CPU -  is a research unit at The Department of Communication and Psychology – Aalborg University, Denmark.

CPU conducts research within the area of Cognitive, Developmental and Neuropsychology.

Aim

The aim of the Cognitive Psychology Unit is to investigate theoretical, empirical and applied aspects of human development, cognition and neurology. The CPU Unit gives students at Aalborg University the opportunity to learn research techniques in Psychology. Particular expertise exists in the areas of general and applied approaches to memory, typical and atypical development, communication and pain.

We provide research based teaching and supervision at the Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. level. Notably we run two Graduate programmes: One programme is on applied
cognitive developmental with youth and adults – KANUK, which in addition
to Danish students also hosts Erasmus and exchange students from across
the world. We provide supervision in Danish, English, Spanish, Italian
and Slovakian, and a second programme is a Clinic for Developmental
Communication Disorders - DCD
. The clinic offers short term assessment
and intervention for school-age children and is in collaboration with
NASUD.
